- Witnesses to marriage were William Schoenborn and Katie Wuertz??? According to Amelia Letter's obituary, Hilda was living in Belleville, in 1948. Obituary of Hilda Letter Schoenborn, Belleville News Democrat, Dec., 16, 1958, page 1. Mrs Schoenborn Dies at Her Home. Mrs. Hilda R.Scvhoenborn, 70-year-old widow, died at her home, 301a North high Street, at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Death followed a long illness. Mrs. Schoenborn was born here on July 23, 1888. Her husband, John Schoenborn, died in October, 1932. Her parents were the late William and Amelia Letter. Surviving are four sons and two daughters, Raymond J. Schoenborn, 1915 Muren Blvd., Edward and Leroy E. Schoenborn, both at home; Bernard F. Schoenborn, 11 South Delaware Ave; Catherine, wife of PA Elmore, 401 1/2 East B. Street and Miss Lucille Schoenborn, Lincoln, ILL; a brother, Albert Letter, St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Emma Galli, El Monte, CA; two half-brothers, Eugene Letter, St. Louis, and Edward Letter, East St. Loouis, 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 5 children and several brothers and sisters. The funeral will be held at 8:45 o'clock on Thursday Morning from the Renner Funeral Home to St. Luke's Church where the pastor, Msgr. F. A. Kaiser, will officiate at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in Green Mount Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 pm today. Obit sent by Gene Schoenborn -- copy in file. There is a menetion in the St. Lukes Parish register of the death of Alfred Petere Schoenborn, who died 16 Jan, 08, age 3 mos , 13 days, but parens not identified.
