Works in private home.. She was working at time of census, but had been out of work for 3 weeks during the census year. Louise's obit, from the Kingsville Record (no pub data on copy I received) MRS. E. J. BROOKS DIES AT FAMILY HOME Mrs. E. J. Brooks, wife of the well known engineer of this city, died at the family residence on West King Ave (#415) at 7 pm, Tuesday evening, Aug 12. Mrs. Brooks had been stricken with an incurable malady some time ago and for the past two months had been confined to her home. For ten days previous to her death she had been confined to her bed. She had lived in this city since her marriage in 1812. (cause of death re death cert: cancer of the womb). Funeral services will be from the Santa Gertrudis Catholic Church, of which deceased was a member, with Rev. Fr. Henpault, pastor of that church, officiating. Burial will be at Chamberlain Burial Park. The church service will be at 9:30 Thursday Morning (therefore, paper must be Wed., Aug. 13) Mrs. Brooks, who before her marriage was Loouise Letter, was born in Belleville, ILL, Feb. 15, 1884. Besides her husband and 11 year old daughter, Helen, there services a sister, Mrs. Emma Galli of El Monte, Cal, who was at her sister's bedside during her last illness, one other sister and three brothers living in St. Louis.
